Find your fit

Answer three quick questions about your floor jack and we’ll help point you toward compatible Jack Rod models.

Compatible Jack Rod Products

Check your floor jack

1. Check the cross-pin

Best for compatible 4-wheel floor jacks from 1.5 to 3.5 tons.

  • Height Range: 8–14 in.
  • Capacity: 3.5 tons
  • Top Mount Width: 1.95 in.
  • Best For: General shop use, tire changes, brake jobs, and quick repairs of full size vehicles.

2. Check the front axle

The Jack Rod’s lower saddle locates on the floor jack’s front axle.

  • Front axle must be longer than 2.5 in. for all Jack Rod models.
  • On most 3-wheel floor jacks, the front wheel occupies this space. Use the 2-Ton Jack Rod when fit requirements are met.

Avoid small trolley jacks

Most trolley jacks do not have enough front axle and cross-pin width for the Jack Rod to fit correctly.

  • If your jack’s front axle or cross-pin is too narrow, do not use a Jack Rod.
  • Use the fitment quiz above or contact AGM if you are unsure.

LifeTime Shield Guarantee

Built to last — and backed for life. If something fails due to a covered defect, we’ll repair or replace it free.

Customers praised this safety device that "turns a floor jack into an instant jack stand," solving limited jacking point issues on modern vehicles. Described as "well made" with "expert welds" and "solid metal," it provides peace of mind. Some noted it's "pricey" and requires jacking vehicles high for use. A few mentioned sizing confusion and wished for shorter versions.

Incorrect sizes shown in picture

Update: AGM reached out to me and informed me they switched the 2-ton Jack Rod to the 6 long version, they mustve had a couple of the older 10 versions laying around and I was sent that by accident. They next-day shipped me a replacement 6 2-ton Jack Rod and allowed me to keep the longer version for free! Extremely happy with the fast resolution.Original Review: The product seems well made, however, the size chart is misleading/wrong. I originally bought the 3.5 ton Jack Rod, not realizing it was the middle size in the picture. I returned it and bought the 2 ton Jack Rod, which is supposed to be 6 according to the chart. This is the exact same size as the 3.5 ton version, despite it being smaller in the picture. If you dont have an SUV or truck, you will have to jack your car up pretty high to be able to use this fot single wheel lifts.

Andy, our apologies for the mix up. Thank you for sharing your full experience and for giving us the opportunity to correct the oversight. Letting you keep the longer version was the least we could do for putting you out. We appreciate your patience and feedback. Thanks again for choosing AGM Products!

Product update must have occurred

It is a GREAT product, I had ordered this in the past, used it and happy with it. So much so I ordered a second one to use with another floor jack. But I am surprised to see that the second Jack Rod I received was smaller than the first one. This one only had 10" of travel, while my first one had 14" of travel. Same capacity (2 tons) and even the same part numbers! Both had part #s FJA-1009, but the second jack rod I received is smaller. Not sure what happened there, but I will have to return this and exchange for the bigger/longer product. Looks like the matching product is the one with 14" of travel, but this one is also slightly different with a safety pin and an increased capacity of 3.5 tons. Just FYI.

Jack Rod 3.5 ton

I was a little worried that the Jack Rod would not work with my Sears 4-ton floor jack because it has a square upper rod on the jack pad. When I put the Jack Rod in place it fit perfectly!
l tried to reach out to the Tibetan Monks to compliment them on the superior quality of their workmanship, but they were shy and indicated they were still waiting for their 2025 W-2 forms.

This makes it so simple

Fits perfectly with my Harbor Freight Daytona 3-ton floor jack. (Note that their guide specifies the 3.5T Jack Rod for the 3-ton Daytona, but that's to keep the 3-ton spec. I'm not lifting nearly that much weight so the 2T Jack Rob is plenty.) My C8 Corvette has limited jacking points available without removing the undercarriage plates, making it difficult to both lift and place a jack stand. This made the job easy. I place a conventional jack stand up front afyter lifting the side from the rear jack point, and slipped in the Jack Rod and lower the lift to lock it in.

Awesome product!

Works awesome for standard flour jacks. If you have a larger jack, like the Daytona 3 ton long reach low profile from Harbor Freight, get the XL. It will work all the way jacked up!

Perfect for later later model Corvettes

I purchased 4 of the XL3.5 ton JackRods for my 4 teo ton jacks so I can lift my C8 Z06 completely off the ground 24" (O.cam.also.just ise one at a time or im pairs to lift one end or one side of the car. I also bought two of the 2 ton Jackrods for my lightweight 1.5 ton floor jacks, and two of the 5 ton JackRods for simple things like changing tires and checking brakes.

Why are these perfect... on late model Vettes you need to use a jack-puck in the frame in order not to damage the rocker panels but this is the same point you need to place a jack stand... impossible to occupy the same spot at the same time with a jack and jack-stand. The JackRods turn my floor jacks into jack stands... problem solved!!

Additionally it allows me flexibility and light weight options if needed transport. I highly considered getting Quickjacks and they have some great benefits but come with many drawbacks. They are very heavy and not easy to properly place, block access from the sides of the car, take up floor or wall space, have many potential issues with hydrolocs, and more difficult to transport to a track (takes too much space in the trailer and they don't fit in a trunk for that day trip)

I highly recommend these even though I feel they might be a little expensive but well worth it and why I have a total of eight of them for different uses.

The picture is of my 2025 C8 Z06 while doing engine oil/filter change and DCT filter change.

Thomas, this is awesome feedback and exactly what someone searching for a solution to the same problem needs to know. Thank you for taking the time to leave this review and thank you for your business. We are pumped that the Jack Rod is able to solve your issue.....PS- damn, that is a sexy looking car!

Just get it.

Its the product you never knew you needed, maybe even thought about making it yourself, then found out some company stole your idea, so you bought it and it worked exactly how you dreamt it would, its like theres no need for Jack stands anymore. Love it.

Why did I wait so long?

The Jack Rod is something I shouldve had years ago. As Im the safety nut in and around the house, this is going to work out great. Just upgraded my 35 year old floor jack and this will pair nicely with it. Well designed and easy to use..

Great peace of mind while working on the car

I do some minor work on my cars occasionally. I've always kind of rolled the dice and strictly rely on the floor jack. I do have a set of proper jack stands, but none of my cars allow me to easily put the jack stands on. I stumbled onto this product while watching a random online video and purchased it immediately. I feel much safer working on the cars with the Jack Rod, having just put it to the test doing some minor work on the brakes. Absolutely a great tool and IMO a must have for you DIY'ers. The build quality is fantastic. The only bit of tricky part was figuring out which version of the Jack Rod works for me, since it only lists the length of the Jack Rod itself and I had no clue how it'll relate to my jack and the cars I'll be using it on. I nearly bought the Mini version as it would've been a perfect fit for my sedan, just by roughly measuring the minimum height required to get the wheels off the ground. Just prior to placing the order, I decided to go ahead and measure my other car, and sure enough the Mini version would not have been high enough. I ordered the 3.5T version which at the lowest position gets the wheels 2" off the ground. On my other car though, even at the lowest position the wheels are around 6" off the ground which is way more than I need.It can be a bit tricky to engage the Jack Rod properly using the lowest position. To do that you'll have to raise your jack just enough to be in between the lowest and the next position while still able to slide the Jack Rod in place. I figured out what that position is on my jack and marked that position with a permanent marker.I tested the strength by completely releasing the load from the jack onto the Jack Rods. Not even a squeak from the Jack Rod. When in actual use I crank the jack up just a little bit to spread the load.If AGM Products ever makes a smaller version I will certainly buy another.

First rate!

Bought the Jack Rod Mini for wheel changes on my BMW Z4 as the standard Jack Rod I already had for my SUV proved to be too long for jacking the Z4 even on shortest setting. These are really excellent devices - work very well and easy to use, removing the worry of damage that might result from trolley jack unexpectedly collapsing. Highly recommended. And AGM managed to get it to me here in UK in a remarkably short time at a very reasonable shipping charge - I loved the video of despatch from the factory! Many thanks

Awesome product, Makes Safety Easy!

Purchased the 3.5 ton jack rod. First use went very well! Super easy to setup, and once in place, felt very safe!. Used with my HF Pittsburg floor jack. Already planning on getting another one as a gift for someone.

Wall mount for both

Mounts work great. I have a small and large because I use both on my jack.

Pops, love the wall mount. Super creative way to store your AGM Jack Rods in the Jack Rod mounts. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.

you got to have this rod

It's very good and useful tool. If you work on cars on floor jack a lot, I highly recommend this jack rod. It's way more convenient and efficient than traditional jack stands. And see the video, see how easy to set it up with one hand. It's not heavy and big. You can carry it anywhere easily. It has 2 lock pins. It's good for It's price. But you got have the floor jack that has rounded bars on the outer edge(see pictures, I circle them with blue color). In this way, it can seat in the grooves of the jack rod properly.

Ideal for lifted truck / Jeep

I stumbled on the Jack Rod XL when looking for a high lift jack for our lifted truck and Jeep. Tire rotations and brake jobs were a pain having to constantly move jack stands. Thanks for making maintenance safier, easier and less sketchy!

Frequently asked questions

What does the Jack Rod do?

The Jack Rod turns a compatible floor jack into a compact support stand for quick jobs, mobile service, track-side repairs, and short-duration vehicle work.

After the vehicle is lifted with the floor jack, the Jack Rod helps support the load so you can work with more confidence.

Is the Jack Rod a jack stand replacement?

Not for every job.

The Jack Rod is best for quick jobs, tire changes, brake work, inspections, mobile service, and track-side repairs where the floor jack can stay in place.

Traditional jack stands still make sense for long-duration work, jobs where the vehicle will stay lifted for an extended period, or situations where your floor jack needs to be used somewhere else.

Why not just use regular jack stands?

Regular jack stands are still useful, but they can be bulky, slow to position, and difficult to use on some newer vehicles with limited lift points.

The Jack Rod gives you a faster, more compact support option for quick work when your floor jack can stay under the vehicle.

How do I know which Jack Rod model I need?

Start with your vehicle type, floor jack style, lift height, and required capacity.

The 2-Ton Jack Rod is generally best for lower-clearance vehicles like sports cars, most passenger cars, and EVs.

The 3.5-Ton Jack Rod is generally best for larger vehicles like SUVs, crossovers, larger passenger vehicles, and some full-size vehicles.

The 3.5-Ton XL Jack Rod is generally best for lifted trucks, Jeeps, high-clearance vehicles, and taller lift points.

The 3.5-Ton Dual Lever Jack Rod is generally best for high-use shop environments where faster adjustment matters.

Use the fitment quiz and floor jack guide on this page before ordering.

Will the Jack Rod fit my floor jack?

It depends on your floor jack.

Jack Rod compatibility depends on your floor jack’s style, cross-pin width, front axle width, capacity, and lift height. Use the fitment quiz and visual guide on this page to check your setup before ordering.

Does the Jack Rod work with 3-wheel floor jacks?

The 2-Ton Jack Rod can work with compatible 3-wheel floor jacks when fit requirements are met.

Most 3.5-ton Jack Rod models are designed for compatible 4-wheel floor jacks.

Does the Jack Rod work with trolley jacks?

Most trolley jacks do not have enough front axle and cross-pin width for the Jack Rod to fit correctly.

Use the visual fit guide on this page to check your jack before ordering. If your jack’s front axle or cross-pin is too narrow, do not use a Jack Rod.

What is the difference between the 2-Ton and 3.5-Ton Jack Rod?

The 2-Ton Jack Rod is more compact and is generally best for lower-clearance vehicles and compatible 3-wheel or 4-wheel floor jacks.

The 3.5-Ton Jack Rod has a higher capacity and is generally best for compatible 4-wheel floor jacks used with larger vehicles.

What is the difference between the 3.5-Ton and 3.5-Ton XL Jack Rod?

The 3.5-Ton Jack Rod has an 8–14 inch height range.

The 3.5-Ton XL Jack Rod has a 14–24 inch height range, making it better for lifted trucks, Jeeps, high-clearance vehicles, and taller lift points.

What is the 3.5-Ton Dual Lever Jack Rod for?

The 3.5-Ton Dual Lever Jack Rod is built for high-use environments where faster adjustment matters.

It is a strong fit for tire shops, body shops, service bays, and repeat-use professional applications.

How much weight can the Jack Rod support?

Capacity depends on the model.

The 2-Ton Jack Rod is rated for 2 tons. The 3.5-Ton, 3.5-Ton XL, and 3.5-Ton Dual Lever models are rated for 3.5 tons.

Always stay within the rated capacity of both the Jack Rod and your floor jack.

Can I work under a vehicle supported by the Jack Rod?

Only when the Jack Rod is properly matched to the floor jack, correctly installed, fully engaged, used within its rated capacity, and set up on stable ground.

Never exceed the rated capacity of the Jack Rod or floor jack, and always follow safe lifting practices. For long-duration work or jobs where the vehicle will stay in the air for an extended period, traditional jack stands may be the better choice.

Does the Jack Rod come with a floor jack?

No. Floor jacks are not included.

The Jack Rod is designed to work with compatible floor jacks.

Can I store the Jack Rod on my floor jack?

Yes, we offer a mount that zip ties directly to the handle of your floor jack.

Is the Jack Rod good for mobile service?

Yes. The Jack Rod is a strong fit for mobile service because it is compact, fast to set up, and easier to carry than traditional jack stands.

It is especially useful for quick jobs where space, speed, and portability matter.

Is the Jack Rod good for track-side tire changes?

Yes. The Jack Rod is well suited for track-side tire changes and quick race-support work where fast setup and compact storage matter.

Is the Jack Rod covered by Lifetime Shield?

Yes. The Jack Rod is backed by AGM’s Lifetime Shield.

If something fails due to a covered defect in materials or workmanship, we’ll repair or replace it free.

What if I am not sure which model to buy?

Use the fitment quiz and visual guide on this page.

If you are still unsure, contact AGM before ordering. We can help confirm which Jack Rod model is the best fit for your floor jack, vehicle, and use case.
