Description

The Power Steering Pressure Relief valve is a small, lightweight unit that lets you tune your power steering for maximum performance. By moving the pressure relief function out of the pump to this unit, you reduce pump temps and increase pump life. Save your pump, save your race. Get a Power Steering Pressure Relief Valve

NOTE: Pressure can be monitored in real time via the external pressure port.

NOTE: Through bolt with 1/4" hardware or use 5/16-18 threads in housing to mount.

F.A.Q.
WHAT DOES A POWER STEERING PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE DO? WHY DO I NEED IT?
Simply put the Pressure Relief Valve relieves over pressurization in the power steering system. But it’s where and how it does this that makes it superior to relying on the by-pass valve built into your power steering pump. The stock internal by-pass valve bleeds off excess pressure back into the inlet of the power steering pump through a small diameter orifice. This process creates heat as the fluid is forced through this small hole and then sent directly to the inlet of the pump. As this cycle occurs over and over again the fluid is stuck in a loop, building temperature rapidly, this superheating can cause premature wear and even pump failure.
By moving this process away from the pump with our pressure relief valve, you allow the over pressured fluid to vent through a larger/longer port back to the reservoir where it has a chance to cool. This significantly decreases the stress/load on your power steering pump. And because our pressure relief valve is tunable you can set it to your specific requirements.
(NOTE: typically the Pressure relief valve is set to 50 psi less than your pumps max pressure, so the venting will occur at the pressure relief valve and not the pump)
