How is the Rapid Rope different from a standard tow strap?

A standard tow strap transfers force with little or no stretch. The Rapid Rope uses kinetic stretch to build and release energy more gradually, creating a smoother recovery with less abrupt shock.

It also includes integrated soft-shackle ends, so separate metal shackles are not required for compatible recovery points.

Do I need separate shackles?

Not when the integrated ends can be connected directly to suitable rated recovery points.

Additional recovery equipment may be required when the vehicle’s recovery points cannot safely accept the rope ends.

Which size Rapid Rope should I choose?

Choose a rope with a working load limit appropriate for your vehicle and intended recovery use. The entire recovery system is limited by its lowest-rated component, including the rope, vehicle recovery points, and any additional equipment.

Can the Rapid Rope be used for towing?

The Rapid Rope is designed primarily for recovering stuck vehicles. It should not be used as a substitute for equipment intended for controlled, extended-distance towing.

What recovery points should I use?

Connect only to structurally suitable recovery points specifically designed and rated for vehicle recovery.

Never let the rope pass over sharp corners or edges of steel / aluminum plate. Never connect to a trailer ball, transport tie-down point, suspension component, or other unapproved location.

Rapid Rope

Finally received my Rapid Rope. I carry kinetic ropes in most of my side by sides as well as a woven tow strap. I like that the Rapid Rope has built in soft shackles which eliminate soft or hard shackles plus the uses for this far exceed the abilities of the products I've been using. Hope I never have to use it, but feel there's much more versatility, safety and definitely less cost. Great Product

Could this be safely used to recover suvs/light trucks?

Carl, with a 3:1 safety factor the Working Load Limit is 5866lbs. (Max Break Strength: 17,600lbs). If yours is a light SUV or light pickup (4000-5000lb range) you should be within the limits of the rope. And I'm sure you know this part, but so its said - Please make sure to never wrap the rope around sharp edges and never pull from a tow ball on a bumper or in a recevier hitch.

Is this a dynamic rope (with stretch) or is this a static rope?

Kimball, thank you for the question. Although the Rapid Rope has 6-8% stretch it is not made from Nylon(15-28% stretch at break) as so is not considered a Kinetic rope. If used properly it can still help you pull out a stuck vehicles and it does not apply the high dynamic loads a Kinetic rope can on its attachment points.
