Description

Looking for a simple and quick way to mount your AGM Scissor Jack to a chassis tube or flat panel? The Scissor Jack Mount is the answer. Install in minutes. No welding required

NEW IMPROVED DESIGN

Based on the feedback we received we have completely redesigned the mount. We made it stiffer, we replaced the euro style buckle with a standard dirt bike tie down cam style buckle, upgraded the strap, upgraded the hooks, added a loop in the end to make it easier to pull when tightening and added cotter pins to mechanically lock the jack to the mount. Thank you to everyone who spent the time to provide feedback.

Customers praised the mount's heavy-duty construction and versatility for various mounting locations. However, the included strap received overwhelming criticism for being thin and weak. Many noted "the strap is just too darn thin" and replaced it with ratchet straps. Installation is easy, but tightening issues and bracket bending were reported.

Easy mount to my Roof Rack

Easy mount to my Prinsu Roof Rack. Jack and stand have aligned holes for padlock or cable lock. I chose to use a different type of cam strap. Jack is held firm.

That Darn Strap

This is a quality mount. However, like many others I couldn’t get the strap to tighten properly. I chose to modify the design by drilling holes in the studs that are on the mount and pinning it rather than strapping it.

The worst strap on a nice mount

The mount is nice and burly, heavy weight but the strap is just too darn thin. My hooks were thinner than I expected and the buckle is so wonky.

Joe, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're happy to hear that you like the mount. And message received on the strap. We are working on an updated version as we speak.

No good

Jack mount bent when mounting it in place. If you don’t crank it down its loose and if you do crank it down base starts bending. Also the strap is already showing signs of fraying. The jack is amazing but I think these guys need to go back to the drawing board with this mount.

Shane, thank you for sharing your experience. This is super important for us to see as we did not experience what you are talking about during development. We will look at different materials as well as methods for improving grip to reduce torque required on the bolts. We'd like to work with you to solve this, please check your email for more details.

Perfect for what I needed!

Used the mount to mount the scissor jack to my trailers tongue. Will be purchasing a second mount to quickly move the jack to my UTV. I, like others, am also worried the blue strap is thin and not as heavy duty and may wear through in time but that is easily enough remedied.

Great design

I like the mount design and how the jack mounts the strap took a minute to figure out and the hooks need a small tweak but it's been working great so far

The jack mount does look heavy duty

The jack mount bracket does look heavy duty and had high hopes for its effectiveness. It does hold the jack securely, but when attaching it to the rollbar cage, it doesn’t necessarily stay in place. It seemed plenty tight, but wants to twist around the rollbar to the side. I further tightened it, but I’m not sure it’s going to get tight enough. I haven’t been able to test it again yet. It seems as though the rear V bracket is starting to be crushed as it’s tightened, limiting how tight I can actually get it.

Great mount highly recommended

Great piece wish it had 2 clamps on the bar. Just for a fail safe but overall great piece easy to mount and easy to install jack on. I added a small piece of foam to it so the jack does not rattle on the mount

Great product. Strap could be stronger

Disappointing Jack Mount & Customer Services

I'll write another review since it seems my first one here got deleted.

Let's start off with the mount itself - it is by no way deemed to hold up a 15lb. jack. The strap is thin and there was no way to mount it to the roll cage itself - I didn't even have a bottom mounting plate. Cheap and definitely not worth the $40.

I paid $20 to get this small box shipped (one state away, by the way), $20 to ship it back (which they didn't mention, just sent me the label), and only got 50% of the cost back as they said it was "incomplete" - even though the order was missing the part when it arrived. Customer service was near useless in helping me, I should have kept it as a wheel chock at that point!

Look elsewhere for your scissor jack and mounting needs, please!

Hey Blake,

We’re really sorry to hear this was a frustrating experience. That’s definitely not what we want for anyone.

Just to add a bit of context, this mount is part of an updated design specifically intended to hold our scissor jack, and we have over 1,000 units in use without issues. That said, we know every setup is a little different, and sometimes a product just isn’t the right fit and that’s okay.

When a return is requested due to a change of mind rather than a defect, return shipping is typically the customer’s responsibility. In this case, the distance was over 900 miles, and while the actual cost was slightly higher, we capped the return shipping charge at $20 on our end.

When the mount came back, it was missing a component. Even so, we still issued a refund (minus shipping costs) rather than rejecting the return altogether. If any parts had been missing upon arrival, we would have been more than happy to send replacements at no charge - however, this wasn’t brought to our attention during the initial interaction, so we proceeded based on the information available at the time.

We always do our best to be fair and transparent, and we’re sorry this situation didn’t feel that way.

Like the amount, but horrible strap.

Don’t buy this

great mount, but the strap is ridiculous. Why not use a standard ratchet strap, they make 3/4” ; or use a screw down method of securing the jack?
The strap design is why I will not recommend this mount.

Curt, thank you for the honest feedback and for not holding back. For anyone else reading, Curt’s concern isn’t with the strap itself but with the over-center latch used to apply tension to it. While this style of latch is common in many industries, it’s not something most people in the U.S. recreational market are familiar with - which we’re now seeing can cause some frustration if you’re used to ratchet straps.

There are specific reasons we chose this design, but it’s clear it didn’t land well here. We’ll be taking another look at the mount to see what improvements are possible within the constraints.

Thanks again, Curt, for sharing your experience - it helps us make better products.

Great mount. Easy to install. Versatile

The mount itself is great! However, the buckle on the strap is useless. Had to modify by removing the buckle and installing a real ratchet

Life saver

Norra 1000 we raced in a class 11 bug for 1400 miles through the brutal terrain of Baja from Ensanada to Cabo. We used this jack every day of the 6 days of racing from changing flats to in the pits for the prep leading into the next day! Seriously a life saver and compact! The weld on mount with the pull pin made it easy as can be to slide it in and out. After all the abuse it still looks new with the threads on the shaft and all the dust that was attached to them while using it out in the elements. 10/10 recommend!

Strap needs improvement

Guys the mount is great, the strap needs some more thought.

Pretty Disappointing

The jack is great and the mount seams good, until you go to strap the jack to it. The provided blue strap is very cheap and likely won’t hold the jack. Be prepared to eject your new $100 jack off the mount on the first bump if you use the provided strap. The metal hooks are soft and bend and the tightening buckle doesn’t stay latched. I replaced with a ratchet strap and it’s much more secure. I’m actually surprised that a company like AGM would put out a product like this. AGM should really look into a redesign.

Tim, thank you for taking the time to leave a review, they help us with ongoing development. So you know the design idea was focused on a fast and compact latching. In the 1000+ miles of testing we did for this mount, the over center latch accomplished both while also being in a price range that allowed us to offer the mount for the super economical price that it is at. We have sent you an email to learn more about your situation and better understand what you found and why it is different than what we experienced during testing.

have the straps been redesigned, i bought 3 of the jacks and would like to buy the mounts but the reviews aren't that great, lots of complaints about the straps?

AGMProducts

Aaron, thank you for reaching out. The design uses an over center buckle which is more compact than traditional ratchets style buckles and fits better in the space available while still providing good clamping force, when adjusted properly. The issue we learned was the design was less common than we assumed, so intereacting with the buckle for the first time could be confusing. On top of that we made the mistake of not including instructions with the early mounts sold. Thankfully our customers are awesome and let us know right away about these issues. So with the current batch we now include instructions for how to route the strap through the buckle. We also connected one end of the strap to the mount, so the orientation of the strap is more obvious. We think these new updates will improve people’s experience with the Scissor Jack Mount. But we are not done. We read all the comments & feedback and will continue to make updates as we learn more about how people are interacting with the product.

How does the blue strap keep the jack mounted securely? I've never seen a strap like this one

AGMProducts

Joe, the buckle on the blue strap is an overcenter latch design. So as you push down on the handle side of the buckle, the opposite end pivots away from you, pulling tension on the strap itself. When the handle side is pushed all the way down, it crosses the center line of the pivot and clicks past a detents of sort, which holds it in place. Pro-Tip: once you have the slack in the blue strap adjusted to acheive your desired tension (when the buckle is closed), mark the blue strap at the buckle, so you can always return to that tension quickly. We chose this design because it is very compact (not alot of free space in this area), simple(the more complex something is the more likely it will break off-road) and once understood very easy and much faster to use than a ratchet. I hope this helped... please email us at sales@agm-products.com if you have more questions.

Any pictures with Jack mounted to this item? Would like to see how this mounts.

AGMProducts

Brian, We emailed images of the Scissor Jack installed in the mount to you. We have also added those same images to the Scissor Jack product page on the website for everyone to see.

Tiffany

What is the blue strap used for? We are installing the mount in a tube in our rzr.

AGMProducts

Tiffany, the blue strap connects to the Scissor Jack Mount using the sewn in eyelets. Once the strap is installed use it to secure your Scissor Jack to the mount by running the strap over the top of the Scissor Jack and then closing the over center latch on the blue strap to lock the Scissor Jack in place. (Pro Tip- rotate the combo head on your scissor jack, so that the blue strap rests down into the radiused channel in the top of the combo head on the Scissor Jack, before tightening the blue strap).
